The set(s) represented most - 1981 Topps (12), 1987 Topps (12)
There were 270 cards in the box.
That averages out at about 20 cents per card.
58% of the cards were from the years 1985 - 1993.
The "vintage" cards were generally commons...most of the older ones were in rough shape.
You could probably buy all of these individually for less.
I was quite excited to give this a try but I do have to admit my enthusiasm waned as it progressed. Although I generally like opening boxes like this I definitely wouldn't buy this again because of the cost. This is a fantastic idea with great packaging but once the wrapping comes off you soon realize it's just a very expensive Fairfield box in wax packs.
Yeah, tough go. But this was my favorite set of packs so far! Lots of fun stuff. The Grich, Biggio, Berra, Dawson, Madlock, Botche, Mota and others made for a fun trip.
ReplyDeleteI could see myself taking a chance on this if I was 1 or 2 years into collecting. Otherwise, it's not worth the money.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning :)
ReplyDeleteThere 's some pretty decent cards there but a LOT of filler, too. Being a low-budget set collector, I won't be purchasing these but thanks for being the canary in a coalmine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking this out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame. It has promise, but I'm sorry it ultimately fell flat.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks! These people really need to go out of business, or else start putting good sh*t in their boxes again.
