Repacked Wax - Just The 70's Third Edition (Part 2)

Last post I showed you the first half of the box...if you have low expectations it wasn't too terrible. Very Swing and a Pop-Upish (no hits). Let's check out the second half of the box, shall we?

Pack 7

1979 Topps Graig Nettles
1977 Topps Bruce Dal Canton
1977 Topps Rennie Stennett
1974 Topps Bob Gallagher
1975 Topps Dick Pole
1978 Topps Tom Veryzer
1977 Topps Texas Rangers Team Card
1973 Topps Frank Robinson
1979 Topps Dell Alston

Either I misplaced a card or there were only 9 cards in this pack. The 1973 Frank Robinson is one of the better cards pulled.

Pack 8

1974 Topps Bud Harrelson
1977 Topps Mike Cubbage
1979 Kellogg's Mario Guerrero
1978 Topps Jerry Reuss
1976 Topps Richie Zisk
1971 Topps Gene Michael
1978 Topps Cecil Cooper
1979 Topps Checklist 243 - 363
1973 Topps Del Unser
1975 Topps Steve Arlin

Another Kellogg's card!

Pack 9

1977 Topps Rowland Office
1973 Topps Thurman Munson
1978 Topps John Scott
1979 Topps Jeff Newman
1970 Topps Richie Scheinblum
1979 Topps Ray Burris
1978 Yopps John Lowenstein
1974 Topps Steve Barber
1970 Topps Jim French
1973 Topps Duane Sims

The 1973 Thurman Munson might be the best card pulled now.

Pack 10

1977 Topps Mark Belanger
1976 Topps Father & Son - Big Leaguers Roy Smalley/Roy Smalley, Jr.
1970 Topps Bobby Bonds
1978 Topps Nino Espinoza
1975 Topps Lee Richards
1974 Topps Sonny Jackson
1979 Milwaukee Brewers Prospects Kevin Bass/Eddie Romero/Ned Yost
1979 Topps New York Yankees Team Card
1978 Toronto Blue Jays Team Card
1976 Topps Dan Spillner

Nothing too exciting in that pack.

Pack 11

1973 Topps Bob Oliver
1975 Topps Bart Johnson
1979 Topps Mickey Lolich
1972 Topps Steve Luebber
1978 Topps Rusty Staub
1971 Topps Chicago Cubs Team Card
1976 Topps Bill Butler
1974 Topps Bob Tolan
1972 Topps Graig Nettles
1977 Topps Randy Hundley

Probably the 1971 Chicago Cubs team card is the best one here.

Pack 12

1976 Topps Andy Messersmith
1978 Topps Brent Strom
1977 Topps Rookies Bob Bailor/Kiko Garcia/Craig Reynolds/Alex Taveras
1974 Topps George Hendrick
1980 Kellogg's Mike Flanagan
1971 Topps Russ Snyder
1977 Topps Paul Hartzell
1974 Topps New York Yankees Team Card
1978 Topps Rance Mulliniks
1975 Topps 1963 Most Valuable Players Elston Howard/Sandy Koufax

The third Kellogg's card!

Here's the breakdown:

1970 Topps - 4 cards
1971 Topps - 8 cards
1972 Topps - 4 cards
1973 Topps - 9 cards
1974 Topps - 13 cards
1975 Topps - 11 cards
1976 Topps - 11 cards
1977 Topps - 19 cards
1978 Topps - 19 cards
1979 Kellogg's  - 2 cards
1979 Topps - 18 cards
1980 Kellogg's - 1 card

So it's a lot like the last box of this I bought...most of the cards were from the tail end of the decade. Most of the cards were in pretty decent condition with the standard types of wear. No PSA10s here nor was I expecting any. This box was probably a little bit better than the first one I bought although I still haven't hit any really big cards in any of these.

I enjoyed opening (oops. I mean ripping...gotta stay current with the sportscard jargon) this box and I hope you enjoyed finding out what was in one of them. Thanks for reading!

  1. I need that 1970 Jim French card (semi-high number). Other than that, these would be upgrading material/trade bait.

  2. The latter half of the 70's is a weak point of my sets. Might have to see about buying a box or two of this product. Congrats on some pretty decent cards.

  4. There were some neat cards in here, it's just too bad that the boxes weren't a bit cheaper.
