I'd seen this opened a few times on YouTube channels and pretty decent cards had come out of them. I had watched a Sunday night livestream and seen quite a few "hits" come out of it. So I ordered one...not expecting to duplicate the success I had seen earlier.
It arrived pretty quickly...I think in less than a week.1980 Topps Tom Griffin

Well that was...rough. So which common was the best card? I would say the 1975 Mantle/Aaron (which was miscut of course) was one of the few that was not a common and probably by reason of default holds the prize of best card. Let's see if the second rack pack is any better.

Yeah, I must admit I wouldn't be too happy with that. You're paying about a dollar a card--what cards in there are worth a dollar? The 1975 MVP card, year, but not much more than that. MAYBE the 1975 Rose. The other 80s Hall of Famers probably not. At least most of it isn't junk wax, but, still, most of these cards are worth a quarter at most, some less than that. I suppose it's priced based on the possible hits, and I hope you get something that makes it all worth it, but I have my doubts.
ReplyDeleteTo each his own, but your LCS boxes gives you more bang for the buck than these repack boxes where you might be paying for mostly packaging and labor, with a small chance of pulling nicer cards.
ReplyDeleteBoth Panini and Topps are known to provide certain "breakers" with "hot boxes", and from your opening paragraph, I can't help but wonder if these people are doing the same thing.
