Completed Set - 1989 Fleer Baseball

As I was going through various sets and making wantlists, I realized that unbeknownst to me I had finished 1989 Fleer!

Good thing too, because boxes of this has really skyrocketed. I remember when this was the pack that was put inside those 100 count repacks that you would find at Walgreens.

I'm sure you've seen the design a million times, but here it is in case someone has been living in a cave for the past 33 years.

Here is the back. Full stats with a breakdown of before and after the All-Star break for 1988.

The Cal Ripken Jr. card was the last one that I needed.

Unfortunately the Bill Ripken card is the black border version.

Well, there wasn't anything really outstanding that came out of this box. There wasn't a ton of variety either as most packs had cards from the same sets (there ended up being a card from 1991-92 O-Pee-Chee in every pack).

But as I've mentioned on this blog before I love these types of repacks and I don't expect a huge ROI from this. I've seen some of these opened on YouTube and people seem to like these because you never know what you are going to get. Not entirely true. I was pretty sure after the 5th or 6th pack I knew what I was going to get. Maybe not the actual card, but I definitely knew what sets they were going to be from.
