One was to start this blog. I wish I had realized this "blogosphere" existed earlier because I am really enjoying writing, reading and trading with everyone.
The second was to get rid of my storage space.
I think I've mentioned the storage space before in this blog. Around 2001 I was living in Concord NH with my fiancee (a different one, and no I do not collect them), and between the three of us (she had a son), we had too many things to fit into the apartment. So we bought a bunch of bins and the excess stuff went in them, and we rented a storage space.
Fast forward to 2012...and many of those same things are still in bins, sitting in a storage space. It was a different one, as I had moved in 2003 after we split up. The space I was renting now was larger...and more expensive.
So with rent getting more and more expensive, and needing to cut expenses, I decided to get rid of the storage space. My wife and I have spent the past year going through our things and throwing out or donating the things we no longer need. So during the first part of the year I was finally able to empty out the storage space.
So now our storage space is our spare bedroom...which is now jam packed with stuff.
I told you that story so I could tell you this one.
So since the spare bedroom is also our new storage space, sometimes things I put in there get lost for a while. You see, I also keep my cards in there. So this week I was going through a bin which was full of empty bubble mailers that I had yet to remove the address information from. (I shred anything that has my address information on it, and I hadn't gotten to these yet.) So as I'm going through these, I find a bubble mailer THAT STILL HAD CARDS IN IT!
The postmark was a couple of months old, so the first thing I did was check my email to make sure I had thanked the person who sent me the cards. Fortunately I had. I hadn't however, written a blog post about it.
So here it is.
The package was from Robert at $30 A Week Habit and it had two team bags full of...
2012 Topps Gypsy Queen...
...and 2013 Topps Series 1.
I've still got a ways to go to complete Gypsy Queen (about 65 cards), however a miletsone has been reached with Topps Series 1.
IT IS COMPLETE!
The Lucas Duda card you see was the last card I needed. This is the first set that I've completed since I started blogging, and come to think of it, the first set I've completed in a long time.
Thanks a lot Robert, and everyone else who helped me finish Series 1.
Now about this want list I have for Series 2.....
Awesome Bert, glad you've finished series 1!!
ReplyDeleteI'll take a look at your series 2 list later this week when I get home...
