Repack Reward....Or Regret?

On my way home from work today, I stopped at Target to see if there was any discounted blasters. I don't usually look for cards on Wednesday night, but then again I'm usually working.

There were a few discounted football and basketball blasters, which I was not interested in. There was also a discounted blaster of 2009 Donruss Americana which I was interested in. I was about to settle on that when I saw this:

This is the first time I had seen one of these. According to the box, it consists of three baseball packs and one memorabilia card. The back of the box states that the memorabilia card could be a "game-used card, even-used card, manufactured patch (oh joy), autograph or relic card".

This is from the Fairfield Company, and my experience with them is "you win some, you lose some". Quite frankly, 10 bucks for three packs and a memorabilia card sounds like a recipe for disaster. But I figured I'd buy one of these things just to see what was inside.

Let's start with the packs, but for shits and giggles, I'm going to guess what the three packs are before I open it.

I was one for three in guessing what packs would be inside. I don't need any of the cards, but I was surprised to see two Starquest cards in the pack.

 

I still need cards 472, 339 and 303 for this set.

 

I haven't finished the 2012 Topps Series 1 or the 2011 Lineage sets. Unfortunately, I haven't made want lists for either, so I don't know if I need any of these yet or not. I think the John Danks was the first Diamond Anniversary Platinum card I've pulled.

Not a bad relic, at least it wasn't a nobody. But I would have to say I lost on this box.

 

Not worth 10 bucks. I should have gone with my first choice.
