Trade With Nomo's Sushi Platter

Recently, Spiegel of Nomo's Sushi Platter contacted me to let me know he had some cards that would help fill out some set needs. You all probably know that he is a Dodger fan. We here in Red Sox Nation like the Dodgers too. The "Punto Trade" as some people call it here, came out of left field (no pun intended). I was completely surprised that a trade could be made with so much salary involved. The 2012 season was so bad, most Red Sox fans wanted the whole team traded. Even players who had escaped the wrath of Red Sox fans (like Pedroia and Ortiz) felt the heat. Most of the players that were traded to LA from what I hear seem to be doing well (although Spiegel sent a note saying that if he could of found a bubble mailer big enough he would have sent Josh Beckett back with the cards).

I've noticed from the pictures that he puts on his blog is that it always seems to be a nice day there at "The Platter". The "Pop-Up" is jealous. We had downpouring rain again last night, although the sun is peeking out now. Everything is in drying mode again, so there is a smidgen of a swamp smell because of the humidity and everything being so soaked.

So enough about the weather and onto some cards.

For the relatively low price of a couple of stacks of Dodgers, I received all sorts of set needs.

Lots of 2012 Gypsy Queen and other Topps base set needs.

I'm showing this Bronson Arroyo card because I may be the only blogger that also owns this:

His CD. It actually isn't bad.

I may do a post about it in the future. You have been forewarned.

Speigel also sent a bunch of Red Sox, and here are a few.

2010 Topps National Chicle David "Famous as F**k" Ortiz

A couple of prospects, Ronald Bermudez (who I have heard of)...

...and Raul Alcantara (who I haven't).

2011 Bowman Platinum Jon Lester

2013 Topps Wal-Mart Parallel Daniel Nava (who has been quite a surprise this year)...

...and speaking of surprises, Jose Iglesias.

It'll be interesting to see if they send him back down when Middlebrooks comes back or dump Ciriaco instead.

 8 - 0 Clay Buchholz (and winning 7 - 2 as I'm typing this).

1992 Donruss Triple Play Roger Clemens. I attempted to collect this set but didn't get very far.

And finally, my twin brother. Don't know what I'm talking about? You can read about it here.

A great selection of cards from "The Platter". Here's to trading again in the future!
