Most of the repacks I buy are from the dollar store. There is a Dollar Tree where I live and I usually stop in there around once a week. Quite often they have what is a labled as an "Ultimate Super Jumbo Pack", in this case the "Mixed Sports Edition". The company is called Cardsone, and these packs generally contain cards solely from the junk wax era. I still enjoy opening these and often will open one before I go to bed. It sort of winds down the evening for me. The most recent batch of these featured a card from 1999 Team Best Top Prospects peeking through the wrapper.

This one turned out to be 3/4ths baseball, which is fine by me. I do like the mixed sports repacks, (not as much as the strictly baseball ones of course), because you do get some cards of sports that aren't either baseball, football, basketball or hockey.
Although it is an Olympic card, I do believe it is the first card I have that features Team Handball. I also don't think I've ever seen a draft pick card where the player is a free agent before, either.
There was also a little bit of basketball, one football card and no hockey.
I'd like to wrap this post up with two things:
First of all, Happy Father's Day everyone. I lost my own father in June of 2011 and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him.
Happy Father's Day, Dad. I love you and miss you.
Secondly (and on a much happier note), occasionally I'll mention my fiancee here on the blog. As of yesterday, I'll now be referring to her as my wife.
Thanks for reading and GO BRUINS!

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your Dad but congratulations on the new wife!
ReplyDeleteMy parents have been gone for a long time but we are expecting our fist grandchild, Miranda Jane, in about a month or so.
I pick up one of those packs once in a while.
Never tried a mixed sport though, I have enough football and basketball cards I don't know what to do with!
Congrats on getting hitched!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the engagement!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice Fred Lynn. Almost as cool as getting marriaged.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting married! May you both have many happy years together...Go Hawks!
