More Trading With The Dollar Store

A few weeks ago (ok, actually it was close to a month ago) I started doing my Trading Tuesdays posts (which has now been changed to Trading Thursdays). The very first post I did involved a selection of California/Los Angeles/Anaheim Angels. The first person who claimed it would receive all of the Angels cards I had listed. You can see it here. The only stipulation was that they had to trade me at least 1 card off of my want lists. Very quickly, Doug from the blog "Sportscards From The Dollar Store" claimed the lot of Angels. As you can see by this picture, he went waaaaaaaay beyond what was required to receive the cards.

And for those of you who've never traded with Doug, he lives in Canada. I live in the United States.

This was not cheap to send to me.

It was an assortment of set needs. Here they are in stacks.

He always throws in some hockey cards for me. I do collect hockey cards as well, so these are always welcome.

Now on to a few scans of the baseball cards.

Some assorted Red Sox along with some 1986 Donruss, 1989 Score, 1994 Collectors Choice and 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen.

1991 Fleer Ultra, 1989 Donruss and 2008 Upper Deck Goudey.

1990 Donruss!! He sent me a lot of this. That's good because I need a lot of this. I should be pretty close to completing the set by now....I hope.

Is it wrong to be this excited about 1990 Donruss?

Some 2007 Upper Deck and a lone 1985 Topps.

Disturbing fact about that '85 Gary Carter. For a brief second, I thought that was from 2013 Archives.

That's not cool.

2010 and 2012 Topps. Two sets that I still have not finished yet.

More 2012 and 1985 Topps with some 1989 Upper Deck thrown in.

1993 Donruss. With all of the cards I've accumulated from this time period, you would've thought I have more sets completed than I do.

1992 Leaf.

New sets were popping up all over the place around this time and it was getting quite difficult (and expensive) to collect them all.

He also sent me some 1992 Donruss...

...as well as 1993 Leaf.

But that wasn't the extent of his generosity.

Also included was this nice David Ortiz relic.

This was way more than I expected and of course greatly appreciated. Thank you very much, Doug!

Looking forward to trading again!

Still Working On 2012 Stuff

Even though we are well into the 2013 card collecting season, I still have not finished any sets from 2012. So I plunked down 20 bucks (which is a lot for me), and picked up this repack which had cards from 2012 Heritage, Bowman, Gypsy Queen and Archives.

Trading Thursdays - Atlanta Braves Edition

As I've mentioned on this blog before, one of the things I enjoy most about the blogosphere is trading with other bloggers. I don't make it to too many card shows, and it's often times very tough to find the cards I need to complete the sets I'm working on.

I've gotten closer to some sets thanks to the trading I've done, and hopefully I've been to help other bloggers with their collecting goals as well. So I've been thinking for a while about how I can help initiate some trading with other collectors/bloggers that I may not have connected with yet. Of course, I'm certainly up for trading with collectors/bloggers that I've traded with before.

So every Thursday I post a collection of items representing a specific team. It will generally consist of mostly cards from that team, but it could also include a media guide, a yearbook, a pack of cards with a player from that team on the wrapper, etc.

If you are interested in it, either comment on the blog or email me at swingandapopup@gmail.com, with what you want to trade for it. No reasonable offer will be refused, however it does have to be off of my want list. I need to finish these sets! Trade me a dozen cards, trade me a hundred cards, trade me one card, but help me finish these sets!

I only have a small percentage of my "wants" uploaded. This is a huge work in process, and I am adding new want lists up weekly. I also keep track via a sidebar on my blog letting readers know what lists have been added in the past week. There are also some "junk wax" sets on there that I haven't finished. I know some of you are sitting on some '89 Score, 92 Donruss, etc., and this could be a chance to unload some of it to someone who needs it!

This week I feature the Atlanta Braves. However, nobody claimed last week's lot of Mariners (see what's available here), so if someone claims the Braves lot, they will get the Mariners lot as well.

So here's what up for trade this week:

1992 Braves Team Yearbook

2008 Upper Deck A Piece Of History Clint Sammons

2012 Topps Opening Day Freddie Freeman

2013 Topps Chasing History Hank Aaron

1986 Topps Gerald Perry

1992 Fleer Tom Glavine Career Highlights

2008 Upper Deck Starquest Common Jeff Francoeur

1994 Post David Justice

1989 Topps Traded Jody Davis

2003 Upper Deck Vinny Castilla

2012 Topps Gypsy Queen Future Stars Brandon Beachy

2013 Topps Archives Freddie Freeman

1992 Topps Ron Gant

1979 Topps Barry Bonnell

2012 Bowman Tyler Pastornicky

1987 Topps Mini Dale Murphy

1988 Kmart Memorable Moments Dale Murphy

1993 Fleer Flair Mark Lemke

1989 Topps John Smoltz

1994 Fleer Ultra Chipper Jones

If you are interested in trading for all of this, either leave a comment or email me at swingandapopup@gmail.com with what you wish to trade. First person to contact me wins the entire package of Mariners and Braves.

Thanks for reading and let's trade!
